Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What household things are provided to guests?
A. We provide an extensive list of amenities for our guests to use. For a complete list, click here.
Q. Can we use or rent the owners boat or jetski?
A. Unfortunately due to insurance reasons, no. However, you can rent a boat or jetski from multiple locations in and around Lake Anna. For more questions about boats or jetskis, click here.
Q. Can we bring our own boat or jetski?
A. Yes. There is plenty of space to park your Boat or Jetski in your private driveway. You can launch your boat or jetski at the neighborhood's private boat landing (no fee) which is a 5 minute walk from our home. You may also be able park your boat at one of the neighborhood's slips (that is not being used) throughout the day but cannot leave it overnight. This must be scheduled prior to arrival so please contact us through Airbnb to see if one is available. We have one Jetski slip available if needed. Depending on the size of your boat you may be able to dock it at our dock for the duration of your visit. Please contact us through Airbnb if needed. Q. Do you have 5G coverage and/or fiber connectivity?
A. Yes, both. AT&T 5G coverage is very fast at the rental with a strong signal. We are unsure of the connectivity for other carriers. The entire house is connected to Fiber through WiFi. Speed results are listed on Airbnb.
Q. Are there Kayaks we can use?
A. Yes. Two Kayaks are provided - 1 One Person, 1 Tandem (2 person). If you do use the Kayaks, please return them to the dock upside down for future guest usage.
Q. What kind of TV / Cable service do you have?
A. Because we have fiber to the house, all TV's in house are Smart TV's enabled / connected. All TV's provide access to typical streaming services (i.e., Netflix, Amazon, HBO-Max, Hulu, etc.) through Roku. Live TV is provided by YouTube TV.
Q. Can we check in early or check out late?
A. It's very likely you will be able to check in early or check out late. However, we cannot guarantee it because we may have other guests arriving. Please contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Q. Can we start a fire in the firepit?
A. Yes, after 4pm and winds under 15 MPH. We have everything you need including kindling, firewood, fire starters, and roasting / campfire forks should you want to cook hotdogs or marshmellows.
Q. Can we fish off the dock?
A. Yes. And, the fishing is good. Multiple guests have caught large bass, catfish, and snakehead. There are multiple fishing poles, and tackle, at the dock but we cannot guarantee their condition. The State of Virginia requires everyone 16 years or old to have a valid fishing license or a license that is transferrable across states. Click here for where to buy fishing equipment and bait locally.
Q. How many people can the home sleep comfortably?
A. 14-16. The house has 2 king sized beds, 2 queens, and 2 twins. Additionally, there are 5 sofa's and one queen blow up mattress that can be used.
Q. Is it safe to swim in Lake Anna?
A. Yes, but guests should always check to see if there are any swimming or health alerts prior to arrival and during your stay. Please note that exposure to any natural water, including swallowing untreated water, swimming in warm waters, or swimming with open wounds, represents a risk. Here are few websites that can give you a status of Lake Anna waters and tips for swimming health.

Q. Can we swim off your dock?
A. Yes, but with conditions. The dock is located on a channel off the Lake. The depth of the water is typically between 5-6 feet throughout the year. If there's a drought, or the water level of the Lake is low, water can become stagnate. While this may not bother some, others that are more used to swimming in deeper waters on the Lake may choose not to. Please see our Boating Page for more information on the dock and water levels.
